Intrigued by the sculptural possibilities of the Styrofoam board I had been using for mounting, I decided to continue the ideas from Fiat Lux in an abstract southwest landscape. The abstracted sun shape was built up with modeling paste. At the time, I did not understand the drying time requirements of the material. The shrinkage lines are interesting but unintentional.
