Title: Problem Child
Media: Acrylic mixed media on canvas
Dimensions: 48"x36"
Finish Date: January, 2005
Commentary:

Some works are like problem children. They cause anguish and considerable expenditure of effort. They don't go easily in the direction you want them to. But, as is sometimes the case, they mature into fine adults.

This work began with a monochromatic intention. The silver reflective appearance of the holographic paper is used with silver painted elements in the picture. Varied passages of black provide contrast.

The piece hangs in our bedroom. I love the quiet ever-changing passages of colour and do not tire of it. Sunlight and cast shadows on it work wonderfully with its structural nature.
