Title: Etude No. 16
Media:
Acrylic, interference film on canvas
Dimensions: 16"x16"
Finish Date: November, 2006
Commentary:

This work is a test of a green/gold gradient and the application of one interference film over another. It was intensionally kept simple without figurative content in the quadrants.

The milkiness of the acrylic gel seen between the two layers of film disappeared after a day or two. This suggests that the film is permeable to water vapour, a necessary characteristic for a solvent-based adhesive like acrylic medium. The gel under the other areas of film dries by migration of the water through the paint and canvas.
